[August] Summary of the Recent Indonesia Regulations

25th August 2022: Updated Health Protocols for Domestic Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic

​COVID-19 Task Force Handling has issued a Circular Letter Number 24 Year 2022 titled Health Protocols for Domestic Travel During COVID-19 Pandemic. Domestic Travellers are no longer required to show negative RT-PCR or rapid test result under the following terms:

    • Domestic Travellers aged 18 years and above must have received the 3rd dose of vaccination (booster);

    • Foreign Citizen Domestic Travellers originating from overseas travel aged 18 years and above must have received the 2nd dose of vaccination;

    • Domestic Travellers aged 6-17 years must have received the 2nd dose of vaccination;

    • Foreign Citizen Domestic Travellers originating from overseas travel aged 6-17 years are exempted from the vaccination requirement;

    • Domestic Travellers aged under 6 years are exempted from vaccination requirements but must travel with a companion who has fulfilled the provisions of COVID-19 vaccination.

16th August 2022: The Implementation of Public Activity Restriction (PPKM) for Java and Bali

The Home Affairs Ministry has issued Ministerial Instructions Number 40 the Year 2022 dated August 15th 2022 concerning the Implementation of Public Activities Restrictions (Pemberlakuan Pembatasan Kegiatan Masyarakat - PPKM) in Java and Bali areas during the COVID-19 Pandemic on each Level. This new policy is taking effect as an extension for The Home Affairs Ministerial Instructions Number 38 the Year 2022, dated August 1st, 2022. As referred to the instruction of the President, cities and districts in Java and Bali islands are classified as Level 1 of PPKM implementation and must comply with the below restrictions:

Duration:

  • Teaching and learning activities are limited to direct/face-to-face and/or online methods.

  • All offices are returning to normal capacity 100%.

  • Malls and public places' operating hours return to normal.

  • Essential sectors activities are returning to normal capacity 100%.

More international airports are open to foreigners, and other updates are regulated in The Home Affairs Ministerial Instructions Number 40 the Year 2022.

​11th August 2022: Updated Health Protocols for Domestic Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic

COVID-19 Task Force Handling has issued a Circular Letter Number 23 the Year 2022 titled Health Protocols for Domestic Travel During COVID-19 Pandemic. Numerous points shall be highlighted for your reference as below:

  1. Domestic Travellers who have only received 2nd dose or 1st dose of vaccination must show a negative RT-PCR test result with samples taken within 3x24 hours before departure;

  2. Domestic Travellers aged 6-17 years who have received the 1st dose of vaccination are required to show a negative result of the rapid antigen test sampled within 1x24 hours or a negative result of the RT-PCR test sampled within 3x24 hours before departure;

  3. Domestic Travellers aged 6-17 years originating from overseas travels who have not been vaccinated are exempted from the requirement to present a vaccination card and must present a negative result of a rapid antigen test sampled within 1x24 hours or a negative result of an RT-PCR test sampled within 3x24 hours before departure;

  4. Domestic Travellers aged 6-17 years with particular health conditions or comorbid diseases that cause the traveller to be unable to receive vaccination are exempted from the vaccination requirement but must show a negative result of the rapid antigen test sampled within 1x24 hours or a negative result of the RT-PCR test sampled within 3x24 hours before departure and are obligated to attach a letter from the Official Government Hospital that states they have not and/or not able to receive COVID-19 vaccination.
